a new beginning

I can’t actually believe it. I actually uploaded my new site and uploaded videos to my YouTube Channel. Oh man.

I deleted my first YouTube channel in 2017. It’s 2026 now! 😮

I used to have a website many years ago.

The first one was actually made for me in 1999, and he instructed me how to update it. Then I created an entirely new one from scratch, then I made another one. They remained online until 2017. It wasn’t fancy. It wasn’t high standard for it’s time. But it did the job and it showed my work and videos at the time.

I was online a lot, joined a few places that were art communities online. Two of them no longer exist now.

I also joined some miscellaneous art groups I had found, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube as well. I loved it. I had a modest following and was happy.

But then I started getting sick of the toxicity online. there was so much of it. I decided to leave in the end. I did try to join Instagram, but then someone hacked my account and stole my identity. So that really put me off, and I left again. I actually felt better leaving social media. I took pretty much everything down. I felt relieved that I wasn’t online. Although I did miss the nice people I had met online over the years. There were some genuinely lovely people I wish i had stayed in touch with.

So anyway, I continued to build my world of Gaia, and I’ve been documenting some of my work too. Not everything, but a good chunk of it. I’ve been telling myself and others that one day I will return and now is that very time.

This was the first character from the Gaia Universe that I created in 2005!

In hindsight, I was still very much a beginner when it came to video editing. I didn’t really know what I was doing. My inexperience showed. I had a very humble, following of only 885 subscribers. I wasn’t online for very long. But I still appreciated what support I had.

Gradually over time, I taught myself how to compose music samples, and use video editing software, and tried all sorts of ways to make my photography to look better.

Now here it all is.

I took my website down and left Facebook in 2017. Right now it’s 2026. Oh wow. I don’t regret left the internet. I feel like I did the right thing. I can only hope that my new home online will be a much better experience from here on out.

I joined my second social media platform (the first was YouTube) I’m now part of Blue Sky (bsky.app) My bestie, Hellforge Props recommended this to me and said it’s run by indie developers and is a really good place for artists. So I thought I’d give it a try.

I posted for the first time yesterday, and i’m not sure what I’m doing. It’s very new to me, so it’s just the case of getting used to it. I have posted a few images and videos so far. So there’s little content on there.

I also finally hit the publish button on my Website and YouTube Videos yesterday. It was kinda scary! Haha. Because it’s just been so long and I haven’t had good experience many years ago. So, here goes. I haven’t had one comment yet on my YouTube Channel, but it’s only been less than a day Haha!

It’s just nice to finally get my work out there.

I have now made my digital home online and it’s official!
